Rumors, conspiracy theories and murmurs of the truth all tossed into a nice pretty bag of political cover up is the closest thing the everyday person got to the reason behind the Medina City incident almost 20 years ago now. The one thing we all know for fact is that day the entire world changed, a factory exploded releasing gases into the air that changed the genetic makeup of those who survived, making them something different.







They called the survivors hybrids, the chemicle that they were exposed too was called the Catalyst serum. It apparently unlocked portions of the human brain allowing them to do crazy stuff, move things with their minds, fly, a whole list of sci fi stuff you never think will actually come true. That was 20 years ago, since then the world has evolved. The serum has been sold as a street drug and used by foriegn nations, the population of Hybrids is in the thousands now and it scares the heck out of most people. There is even a Island floating some where in the midst of the bermuda triangle that has declared themselves the Soveriegn Nation of Antilla an all Hybrid Nation.







The ones not in Antilla are pretty much pushed into districts across the US, a total of 26 disticts that most Hybrids live in, work in, ect. Those who are rich enough of handy enough to some one have whats called Tourist status and can live among the normal people as long as they don't openly use whatever powers they got. The company who started this whole mess is called Encore, and through the last two decades they have seen their ups and downs as well but they are currently back in control and run a government sanctioned security division to police Hybrids.







It's different that's for sure, but it seems the government would rather sweep them under the rug then actually address the issue. You know out of sight, out of mind. When it first happened lots of the Hybrids went around calling themselves heroes, some say they were, all that kind of stuff is illegal now, and Encore doesn't mind punishing anyone who would break those rules.
