In an unnamed small village located at the Conomi Islands, activity there was just as normal. The sun was out on this nice day with only a few clouds out, but nothing to instigate rain. It was a perfect day for farming which many of the residence did. Some young children were out, and about playing as most of the adults were off during their daily things while talking among each other. The community here is pretty close, meaning little to no trouble happens here to the point that rarely any Marines are seen within this area as they are mainly up at the main island of Conomi. Unfortunately, a certain group of people have decided to take opportunity of this that will lead to no good. Within the market area of this village where business was booming for most of the stands, a group of five shady individuals would show up, and make their presence known. One of the thugs walked up to a stand, and looked down at the elderly woman who ran it. "Why welcome, dearie. Might I interest you in som-" Suddenly, the woman's stand went flipping over much to her surprise! It was all thanks to said thug who began to laugh as he stomped on her items. This caught the attention of most of others in this area. Some tried to go in closer to see what was going on, but then he was picked up by the collar by one of the other thugs, and thrown into another stand. "THIS IS OUR SPOT NOW!!" one of the thugs yelled, and with that they all started to rampage, breaking what they could get their hands on.
Meanwhile at the Marine base located on the main island. Erik was sweeping the one of the hallways, a typical job given to him as a chore boy. The rookie hummed to himself as he did this, looking down at the floor with a small smile one his face. Nothing much was happening today, so he thought of going out to train again after finishing this. It was then Erik heard footsteps coming from a distance. At first he didn't pay it any mind, but as they grew faster, Erik stopped what he was doing, and looked up at the end of the hall which cut into two directions. Left, and right. A few marines came running from the left to the right. They were obviously in a hurry for something, and even had their weapons out. Erik peaked his head out to see the Marines running into another room. Having his curiosity get the better of him, Erik followed, and peaked his head into some room where a higher ranked Marine was talking to a large group of Ensigns within the room. "Listen, we received an alert from one of the other islands here. Apparently they are under attack from what we gathered. I am not too sure what is going on down there, but we must get down there as soon as possible, and get this under control!" the higher up claimed, leading the others to salute, and yell out "SIR!!" in sync. "SIR!" another voice yelled out shortly after. All of the ensigns within the room then turned around to see Erik at the doorway, saluting their superior with a stern look on his face. "...You stay here, and continue with you chores, Dubois." The higher ranking marine said with a deadpan expression.
Erik slowly placed his hand down, frowning a bit, but quickly shook his head. "But...I can fight too." he clenched his fists, looking down at the floor. "How am I suppose to prove myself...if I'm never allowed get into the action?" The room went silent. The higher up was definitely annoyed since he didn't have time for this. He sighed before saying, "Fine." Erik's head perked up, but before anything could come from his mouth, the marine added one more thing. "But you are only to spectate. That's an order." "Erik once again fell into a frown, but instead of back talking, he bowed as he didn't want to run the risk of the guy changing his mind. With that, the superior turned to the others.
"NOW EVERYBODY, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, AND LET'S MOVE!"

While Erik was busy sweeping the floors left and right, Lily was following behind him, by about ten paces, sweeping the dust back in to place. She wasn't exactly doing it to make a mess, but it helped keep Erik busy, and it seemed like she was doing work. SInce they met, she was tasked with staying by his side, or was it the other way around? Either way, she swept the floors and reswept the dust around, and then away, making sure the main walkway was clear, and that the dust was all up in the air and flowing out the windows, or pushed up to the corners of the hallway.
Since they met they had an interesting relationship. Lily was the one to follow Erik around, Erik was the one to find her robotic side cool, but her girl side hard to be around. Did he hate her? She couldn't tell, she was still getting used to everything, it had been less than a week since she was active, and she was still a cheery and chipper girl. Lily just hummed, mimicking what Erik was doing as she learned behaviors and mannerisms through him.
Many of the others in the base referred to her as his little girlfriend and Erik's shadow, Eriksbane was one of the more popular name choices, namely for the reason that Erik had some sort of Gynophobia, an aversion to girls, or he was just bad at talking to them.
When the alarms went off, Lily raised her head up, her eyes glowing a little with information windows whirring by through them. An alarm meant something was going on and that things were about to happen, or already happening. SHortly after, Erik would go to the room with the ensigns and eavesdrop, getting himself a chance to get in to the fray, at least through observation. Lily was peaking at him from around the corner, fingers clutching the stone work and her head poked out as she watched with interest.
As soon as everyone was moving, Lily hopped out and performed a salute, "Lily reporting for duty! I will get my hammer post haste!" If she was allowed to come along, she would rush off and make a change in to an outfit that was more suited for a combat situation. A leotard of a combat mesh around her torso along with elbow gloves and thigh highs of the same material. All black with accents of bright blue on them and a white streak on each. On her head was a black, blue and white penguin themed hat and in her hands was the Naiad Mark One hammer.
Now they could get to the ship and get to the island they needed to provide support on!

Still kind of bothered about not being actually able to fight, Erik was still grateful nonetheless about being able to come with, and see the others in action at up close. A combination of excitement, and worry wrapped themselves around him. This was cool, and all, but still they didn't know what they were up against. The alert was vague as it only said that the other island was under attack. What if it was one of those big named pirate crews preparing to take down all of Conomi!? It doesn't matter. It is the duty of a Marine to protect those in need no matter what. Erik ran down the hall behind all the ensigns who were geared up, but stopped when he noticed the others had halted. "Huh, what's going on?" the choreboy asked, trying to peek what was past the others, but to no avail. So instead he started to maneuver his way around the others until he was next to the guy in charge, the one he had to convince for him to come along. The green haired marine's eyes widened as he saw lily right in front of them "Uhhh..." "Whatever, just hurry up! But you aren't to engage neither." Erik quickly looked up at his superior, wanting really badly to just let out a long whhaaaattttt, but chose to stay quiet. "Looks like you're girlfriend is coming along." "kissy kissy, muwah muwah!" "She's so adorabllleeee!!" Again the teasing has returned, Erik lowering his head in defeat.
"Come on guys..." he mumbled.
The one in charge just stood there with his eyes closed, tapping his foot impatiently even though it didn't appear Lily took too long getting ready. Eyes were now all on her again, seeing as she was prepared, the guy nodded, and said, "Remember, this isn't a date, Dubois." "Sir, not you too!!" Erik quickly looked back up in disbelief. "Alright, get your asses onto the ship!" he ordered, leading to another grouped, "SIR!"
Finally, they were now all on the ship en route to the smaller island which shouldn't take too long. All of the Ensigns were prepared, and the captain had them lined up, going through some more about this situation, and how to possibly handle it. Erik on the other hand was more towards the back with Lily if she decided to stay with him. Erik looked to them with a small smile on his face. It was obvious that he looked up to the other Marines since day one, seeing them not only as his heroes, but heroes of the world. "They are so cool." he claimed right before glancing over to Lily, and that hammer of hers. Now that he thought about it, Erik has never seen her in real action, an was starting to grow worried for her sake. However judging from what he has read so far about her, and the fact that she came with a freaking hammer, maybe there isn't nothing to worry about, but it was still concerning for some odd reason. "It might be dangerous....ya know." Erik claimed, looking back at the group as they saluted the captain.
The island could finally be seen. Not as big as the main island of course. It looked pleasant from a distance, but everyone knew better, and were on guard. It was time to get into action.

Was she a hassle for Erik? No, she wasn't that much of a hindrance to his duties and chores. The other marines just liked to tease him based on his similar age range to Lily. She was brought here on a boat and passed off to him as a friend, and a aprtner in combat. SHe was told she had to come here, to train enough to save her seven sisters that were out of control, along with the other seven that may be lost already. She didn't want to think of her sisters as missing, but her brain wouldn't let her process the information as it had happened. While the other fourteen Gilda Corps Units were either rampant at the moment or inactive, she saw them as her sisters, and that it was her duty to bring them back home so that they could be looked after, for their own safety. If only she knew the truth. If only Erik knew that too. When everyone took notice of her, she leapt out from around the corner and brought her heels together and swung her hand up, forming a salute as she greeted the marines, all dressed the same. SHe was getting to go on the boat ride to see what the alarm was about as well! And so, they all piled up on to the boat and got ready to head out on tot he seas, from one island to the other. Lily in the meantime was busy with her hammer, performing a maintenance check on it. Even going as far as to break in to the kitchen on the boat and dip the hammer in water. If anyone took note of her, she would look at them with confusion while the water she took in to her hammer lowered, signifying that something was sucking it all up. After that, she was up on deck, anxiously bouncing her weight back and forth from one foot to the other. She wanted to get to the action, to administer justice, and to make things right. It was her duty, something about her just told her, this is what she would have to do. The island was coming in to view, and she was leaning over the bow of the ship, nearly on to the very front spire of it. SOme of the marines in the background poking at and talking to Erik, urging him to go and talk to his little girlfriend. WC: 411 WC total: 873 OOC: get to the action and see what I can do chief >

After saying what he had to say, Erik closed his eyes, thinking about what possible dangers lurk on this island, and what he could do to help. He then remembered about his captain's orders for him NOT to engage in combat as well as giving the same orders to Lily. Erik slowly shook his head at the thought. It was disappointing, but he couldn't disobey an order, and believed that Lily might feel that way as well mainly because she is a robot, and all. Speaking of, Erik has yet to hear a response from her. "Lily?" Erik opened one eye then the other as he looked to his left then right.
Wait....was she not by him the whole time!? "Ahhhh..." Erik got up, and started to panic a bit, his hands on both side of his face. He could've sworn she was on the ship with him. This is bad, really bad! I hasn't been that long since he was trusted with Lily, and now he's lost her!! Erik was about to go on a rampage around the ship, turning every corner to look for her, only to be stopped by a hand against his shoulder. He quickly turned around to see an ensign giving the young Dubois a smirk before pointing somewhere. Erik's head followed where the Marine was pointing, and finally noticed Lily over there, appearing to be preparing herself. "Don't worry, kiddo. You're girlfriend is fine." the marine teased. Erik didn't notice it at first however, and sighed in relief, but quickly widened his eyes, and looked back over to the guy with a nervous, and sort of loud, "Sh-she's NOT my girlfriend!!!!" his face once again turning red. "Hey hey chill out." the ensign said with his arms raised. "I'm just messin around. Although if you were to ask me...I'd say you both got a similar spark surging through your bodies. It's pretty interesting." The panicking Erik started to calm down after hearing those odd words. He looked back to Lily who was still prepping. Funny, it sort of reminds him of how he trains, with an eager look always written on his face. "Plus you two are pretty strange. I mean, you should've seen what she did in the kitchen earlier." he said shaking his head, leaving Erik puzzled. "Ah, whatever. I'll leave you to your...."battle partner." We are about to land on the island, so we gotta prepare." the marine said, getting back up, and running to the other ensign. Erik watched as he left, and brought his attention back to Lily, deciding to make his way towards her.
As he went towards the bot, some of the Marines were still egging Erik on much to his annoyance. Geez even in a serious situation, they still have time to be irritating. "H-hey." The chore boy made it to the bow of the ship where Lily was leaning, and stood beside her. "You know...the captain told us not to fight once we arrive right?" he asked, before turning his attention to the small island approaching. "But...we should still be prepared for anything."
On the small unamed island, the market section was now a wreck with some civilians knocked out on the ground, and small fires raging. People were running around panicking, and screaming. It was a total mess. Of course at the center of this mess were those five thugs, looking around at the damage they caused along with some stolen goods. "WE HEREBY CLAIM THIS TERRITORY IN TH NAME OF "NOOSE" JOHNSON!!" one of the thugs yelled out with confidence, the others laughing, and breaking some more junk in the process. It was then that they would come to the halt after the equally loud sound of someone yelling,
The grunts turned around to see a dozen, or maybe a bit more marines running towards them with the captain at front. They all had their rifles out, and faces completely serious. Behind them, Erik ran with the same determination on his face. He had on the same uniform as the others except for, any of the badges that ensigns usually have upon them, and of course no weapon. "Shit, what are they doing on this island!?" "I thought they were mainly positioned on the main one!!" "Whatever, we gotta move!" The grunts started to make a run for it, tossing ruined market stands over to try, and slow them down which was already difficult to maneuver with all the mess around. One of the thugs then stopped towards a family of three, a middle aged man, his wife, and son who looked to be no more that seven who were sitting by their ruined market stand. "SIMON NO!!" the mother yelled out as her son was ripped from her arms by the thug. The father attempted to do something, but was kicked back down, and started to run. "Try and shoot us now!" the thug holding the kid said who was trying his best to get loose from his grasp, but it wasn't good enough.
"Shit...Don't shoot!!" the captain demanded as they continued their pursuit, but soon they would begin to slow down due to all of the debris. At this rate they would lose those thugs! This is something Erik knew. While he continued to run, he closed his eyes. He felt that he had to do something, but he would then be disobeying orders. Erik gritted his teeth before opening his eyes. He started to run faster, getting ahead of the rest of the soldiers until he was next to the captain who was surprised by this. "Dubois?" "Sorry, sir!" Erik said as he looked down at the ground, running a bit further than the captain now. "What do you think you're doing, Dubois!? I gave you an order!!! Come back here right now, or..." Erik started to drown out his captain, trying to focus on a particular move he learned from his grandfather. He hasn't exactly mastered it, but he was able to pull it off sometimes. The boy continued to jump over debris not to just avoid them, but in an attempt to...take to the sky. He almost did it, appearing to have bounced off of nothing at first only to trip up a bit, but that didn't stop him. He continued to run, and run until he started to bounce off the very air itself, leaving small white smoke with every bounce.
Geppo...
Erik continued to bounce in the sky, the thugs not at all away that they were being pursued from the sky until it was too late. As the kid continued to squirm, he finally looked up to see the figure in the air descending towards him. "Huh, what the fuck is that noi-" before the thug holding the kid captive could finish, he'd turn around, and find himself getting punched across the face, slamming him into the ground with great force. This loosened his grip on the kid who fell rear first beside them. Erik was now once again on the ground, in front of the unconcious thug as the other four stopped running, looking towards him in shock. "Yo, what was tha-" "Shut up, we gotta keep moving!!!" two of the remaining four said as they continued on.

While they neared the island, they could see just what was happening, just who the culprit was. And two deck hands were too anxious to wait to hit land to make a move. Noose Johnson. A target of the marines, a low level target, but something that her current body assessed as a proper threat. She wasn't sure why she did, but she wasn't aware of all the information passing in front of her eyes. Had Lily been aware, she would hear a second voice in her head, she would experience the world two hundred times slower just to make calculations, she would be able to see all of the information and sort through thousands of files in a half a second and decide the best course of action. Instead, she was a human girl, sort of. At least, she thought she was. Erik, disobeying orders, went off on his own, leaving Lily standing there who swung her hammer around and cleared the area around her before she holstered it behind her back. her eyes flashed like a taser, or a bug zapper. Information passing through them. It was time to see what Lily saw in the world. For the sake of narration, the world has been slowed by two hundred times, just so we can view all of the information that Lily was reading subconsciously. ATTENTION: GILDA CORPS Unit Number 15, The Pacifier, Deisgnation - Lily Karakuri. Advised course of action, follow handler in to combat scenario and provide back up. Distance calculated: one hundred and eighty seven point five four feet. Initiate bail out maneuver from ship in Three. Two. One. Synch.Window after window passed through Lily's mind, brushed aside as soon as her subconscious registered the information, the dormant AI taking command of all of the information in her brain and processing it as quickly as it came in. In all of this time, Erik was still airborne and the marine captain was still shouting out the B of Erik's last name. With Erik out of range, she was in her doll-like state for just a moment, her eyes dark and her vision on the target, Noose Johnson's crew. "Gilda Corps Unit 15, engaging. Three. Two. One. Synch." SHe said it the same time the word appeared in her head and she ran to the bow of the ship, vaulting over the banister, her hands clutching on to it to perform a cartwheel over it, her feet coming down on to the bowsprit which she ran along before leaping off of the end. All of the marines behind her rushing to the edge of the banister to try and drag her back, but she was already leaping off of it as far as she could. With a hammer that heavy on her back however, she wouldn't get too far unless she took it off of her back and swung it around while water shot out of ports on her ankles, a high pressured burst of water that propelled her through the air, clearing one hundred feet in a single bound easily. Next she flipped through the air, clutching on to the hammer between her thighs while she aimed her hands at the ocean, blankly staring at it while another burst of water shot out of her wrists! GEYSER ACTIVATED, LIMITING USE TO PREVENT RUST BUILD UP. RUNNING CLEANING ROUTINE< PLEASE STAND BY. That voice read out, indicating that her move would need time to be used again. but that was all she needed to land on the ground, in the middle of the group of Noose Johnson's crew, as Noose Johnson wasn't anywhere nearby, while Erik was getting in to the fight himself. Once she was in range of Erik, she was back to her normal self, Within three hundred feet of Handler, returning will to Gilda Corps Unit Number Fifteen. As she stood up, she brought that hammer around, ports opening up on a spiral pattern from one face of the hammer to the other. Naiad Mark One in its entirety was not a hammer. One could call it a high pressured water gun, with the drum of the hammer serving as the tank for the water. But it was wielded like a hammer, using the water pressure like she used from her body to swing it around. One foot off of the ground she clutched on to the hammer right under the drum with one hand, the other holding it near the bottom of the handle. Water shot out of it, propelling her around in a spinning motion, and her foot slammed in to the ground as she slid her one hand down toward the other, increasing the reach of her weapon before the face of the hammer met the face of one of the pirates. There was initial resistance, but he was lifted off the ground and sent flying in to a tree where he would collide with the bark of it and sent splinters everywhere. One of the other pirates thought to try and swipe at her, but she spun the hammer around, aiming it over her shoulder before the top of it, near that spear point, opened up and shot out a cylinder of high pressured water. TIDAL BETA ACTIVATED, PLEASE ALLOW TIME BEFORE USING AGAIN The gush of water sent the man toppling over backwards before she turned around and brought the hammer down straight in to the pirate's sternum, winding and incapacitating him. Enemy confirmed down. Enemy confirmed down. Proceed to consult morality as to whether execution is permitted. But in all of this time, she was open for attacks, unless these pirates tried to run, or Erik came to protect the hammer wielding girl! Erik looked down at the crook he had just knocked out with a single punch. The green haired chore boy was in a bit of a crouching position after coming down from his geppo, but the moment he tried to stand up, he nearly tripped over, but managed to catch himself. Geppo was still something he needed to get use to, especially when it comes to the landing. At this point, for the very first time, Erik actually disobeyed a direct order from his captain, something no Marine should do. But at the same time, it appeared to have been the best course of action or else they would've lost these thugs. The child Erik just saved, slowly got back to his feet, looking to Erik who hasn't noticed with a bit of awe. The child then turned his head to see his mother gesturing for him to get over to her quickly in which he did. Before the remaining crooks could have time to contemplate whether to continue running, or fight, a familiar cyborg came crashing down, the thugs, and even Erik getting splashed by some water. "L-Lily?" Erik was definitely not expecting her to make such an entrance, a very cool one at that!
"What...in the actual HELL are those two doing!?!" the captain raged as he gritted his teeth, watching as Lily started going at it against two of the other grunts. The other ensigns were also looking in awe at the cyborg's display just like Erik was. Adorable....and dangerous. Captain finally noticed his troops doing a whole lot of nothing, and turned to face them. "Why are you all just sitting around on your hands!? Get your asses out there, and deal with them!!" the captain ordered, referring to the criminals as he pointed in their direction. The ensigns then continued to make their way over to them, still getting slowed down by all of the debris. Luckily, Erik, and Lily were on the case, whether the captain liked it or not.
At first, Erik was caught up in watching Lily take down one of the grunts, or rather....send him flying until he noticed from the corner of his eye another one of them trying to run up on her as she started to attack the second guy. Dubois bared his teeth, and dashed off to Lily's aid, getting in the middle of her, and the one crook trying to sneak attack her. Not raising a hand at all, Erik simply stood his ground while looking sternly at the man. "Tch, get outta my way, kid!" he said before throwing a punch. "Tekkai!" Erik blurted out, and the moment the punch landed on Erik's face, the thug's cocky expression formed into a more painful one as he quickly pulled his now injured arm back. "Ahh, shit! The hell's your head made out of, iron!?" he wined as he held his hand, but would quickly be knocked out from a swift uppercut to the chin, knocking him flat on his back as Erik smirked. The chore boy then looked behind to see Lily who just got done taking care of her second guy. "Are, you okay?" he asked the droid before giving a small grin. "That was...pretty amazing, Lily." Erik said as he turned fully to face her. This is the first time he's ever seen Lily in action, and boy did she not disappoint. Why Erik was ever worried we will never know.
"Hold it right there!!"
The yelling of the captain caught Erik's attention, causing him to turn around, and see him along with the others marines coming in their direction. "Ahhh, c-c-captain, I'm very sorry!! I-I just..." "He's getting away!!" The captain yelled out, interrupting the panicking Dubois. Erik blinked a few times before turning around to see that there was actually still one guy left who made a break for it while the two were busy beating up his partners. "Crap..." Erik mumbled before he started to chase after him. They can't let any of these crooks get away. "After him, after him!!" the captain ordered, in which Erik proceeded to pursue him, being a head of the captain, and ensigns still. If Lily decided to do the same, Erik would have no problems with it. "Wait, no, I didn't mean you....aahhh forget it, I'll deal with those two hotheads later." the captain claimed, gritting his teeth some more. "I need some of you to hang back, and get some handcuffs on these four." the captain said, gesturing to the four grunts that were knocked out, or too injured to get up.
It was now down to one more grunt...
"Shit, what's with this kid!?" the last grunt grumbled as he looked behind. The remaining thug started toppling over random objects as he ran by in hopes of slowing Dubois down, but unfortunately for him, Erik wasn't planning on giving up anytime soon. With a determined look on his face, Dubois ran around, and jumped over whatever obstacles were put in his way! Inching closer, and closer until he was in range, Erik reached out, and grabbed the guy by the back of his shirt collar with enough force to stop him. "Y-you're not going anywhere!" Erik then forcefully pushed the guy down on his stomach before placing his arms together while planting a foot on his back to keep him down. "Gaaahh!" the guy groaned as he attempted to look up at the green haired choreboy. "You're..you're under arrest." Erik claimed. He then heard the sounds of running coming from behind, turning his head to see the other Marines approaching. Lily wasn't in sight it seems, but the Captain certainly was. "Look captain, I got the last on-"
"ERIK DUBOIS JR, WHAT DID I TELL YOU SPECIFICALLY NOT TO DO!?!?!"
Erik jumped off of the grunt in surprise from the sudden yelling. Thankfully another Marine came by, and cuffed the dude before picking him up. "U-uhh Captain, I c-c-can explain!" Erik was now looking dead in the menacing eyes of his grumpy captain. Things weren't looking so good for poor Erik...
~
From an alleyway nearby, a feminine figure dressed in similar thuggish rags as those other five crooks watched quietly as the Marines apprehended those criminals. "Dammit!" she muttered before raising what appeared to be a baby den den mushi to her face. "Put the boss on the line...We've got a problem." she said before looking over to where Erik who currently was getting scolded is at.
