Category: BluntTheme: Quarterstaff
Special Effect: Wind
Bonus: Defense rank up for moves, when applicable
DESCRIPTION: Windy Suprise is a fighting style utilizing a quarterstaff in order to defend against attacks while staying away from the opponent. It uses heavy thrusts to knock away a target, force of the wind to keep blows from hitting the user, and quarterstaff acrobatics to dance around opponents. With the help of fancy footwork and air pressure, the user can make use of the wind for enhanced devastation.
Rookie Style: Windy Suprise at this level is simple quarterstaff maneuvers such as thrusting, blocking, and high jumping. Nothing fancy enough to stand out or take note of.
Junior Style: After much training, Windy Suprise elevates the user's proficiency with a quarterstaff to allow for more complicated aerial maneuvers, sometimes keeping the user's feet off the ground for extended periods of time. Thrusting with the quarterstaff has yielded techniques similar to Shigan; instead of thrusting to keep the enemy at bay, the normally blunt quarterstaff can be used to puncture targets for noteworthy damage and sometimes gusts of wind.
Journeyman Style: Windy Suprise has allowed the user to reach an inhuman level of might at this level; a technique similar to Geppou not only allows the user to dance within the air, but also aids in the control of air flow for windy blasts to blow targets away. Technique combinations allow for more versatile quarterstaff defense and agility, too.
Expert Style: The user's quarterstaff expertise has soared to this level, allowing for increased proficiency for greater defense and agility. Windy Suprise's offensive techniques might swell with a rise in emotional pressure, too. Fancy footwork and quarterstaff twirling might even produce concentrated, windy spirals for a variety of effects.
Master Style: Long ranged blasts of wind have already been possible before, but not for directly offensive purposes; with the help of a technique similar to Rankyaku, sharper and more precise long ranged offensive maneuvers are possible. More effort put into wind oriented techniques might even produce cyclone level results with varies results, including enhanced defense and agility.
