History: Ophelia was born into the prestigious Delacour family with its members known throughout the seas for having various gifts in a variety of life's aspects, whether it was a gift for combat, medicine, science, languages, arts or anything else someone could imagine. Ophelia was gifted with unparalleled beauty, her orange hair and blood red eyes made her quite unique in the family's circles, but what made her even more popular among them was another gift of hers. She was extremely lucky. No matter what decision she made it seemed that everything always ended in her favor, as if the world revolved around her. It always worked out this way.
Underneath the formalities, the fake kindness and smiles towards her parents' friends she hid another self. Ophelia was cold and bitter, despising everyone around her other than her older sister, whom she cherished and loved dearly. Ophelia wanted to rule the kingdom, but would never be given the opportunity despite numerous attempts. Her parents treated her like she was a child and were disgusted by the fact that they had no son to claim the throne when the time was to come and still gave Ophelia everything she wanted but the crown. Even with this luxurious life it was never enough.
Her life could be described as one of comfort, she was never hungry or without a shelter. However, this was all meaningless to Ophelia, she longed for power and nothing more and she often found power in knowledge, studying in the grand library, she found an interesting book labeled “The Great Calamities” it sparked Ophelia's interest and she began to study it, wanting one of the calamities, a devil fruit, more than ever. Now starting at the age of sixteen, her parents would introduce her to a multitude of young men all of them were sons of wealthy families, lords and dukes. Ophelia wasn't interested in them one bit, their titles didn't matter for her and since no one had what she was looking for, a devil fruit, she would constantly find an excuse to turn them down with the most overused that she would prefer to dedicate more time to her study.
On that same year, one of her father's friends came to their house. He was a handsome man with good manners and the more interesting thing, he had obtained a devil fruit. Ophelia begged her parents to introduce her to this man and so they did. No words could describe Ophelia’s beauty, it was like poisonous flower, it was evil, terrible, dangerous even, yet so alluring. For the man this was no exception, he fell in love with her in an instant. To her surprise, her parents were happy with this choice. Due to her being rather young 16, she was forced to wait two years to be with the man who was 45.
On her 18th birthday the man took her away to his home kingdom, where they were to be wed and she would become queen. Sadly, Ophelia had other plans. The night of the wedding in which Ophelia demanded an apple be on her dresser, the man took Ophelia into his corridors in the large castle they now owned together. Slamming her on the bed, he kissed her, and then began choking. Ophelia pulled away, cackling as she ran to the apple, watching it transform into a devil fruit, she ate the entire thing. She had poisoned him with her kiss and now he was dead and the entire kingdom would soon know it was her. Managing to escape in the veil of darkness she sailed away, starting a new chapter of her life.
