"The world is a dangerous place, I know that better than anyone"
Full Name:Ambrosia, Valasca
Alias/Nickname: None
Race: Kuja Tribe
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Faction: Marines
Appearance: Valasca has the appearance of a tomboy, owing to her upbringing in a society that prized strength over beauty. The modern standards of beauty applicable to humans outside of the Kuja Tribe are mystifying to Valasca, but Valasca has taken a liking to the clothing of men, finding them both comfortable and aesthetically appeasing. As such, the lanky-looking woman is often seen wearing a men's uniform, to the confusement and occasionally scorn of her fellow Marines.
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Green
Height: 5'10
Weight: 120 pounds
Personality: Valasca is an unconventional Kuja tribeswoman, who struggled to fit into Kuja society all throughout her life. Valasca felt a constant yearning to explore the world beyond the blue yonder, and this led to Valasca developing a persistent independent streak, with a fiery temper and a sharp tongue to match. However, as she joined the Marines and found her calling in life, Valasca's independence turned into blind obedience for the laws that were set out by the World Government & her Marine superiors.
Valasca is dangerously callous and at times even sadistic towards pirates, believing that the world would be a much better place if pirates did not exist. Valasca rarely ever bothers to differentiate between a genuinely evil pirate & a benevelant pirate, seeing all pirates as scum of the earth.
Order and organization is paramount to Valasca's personal belief code, and to her, even a tyrannical government would be better than no government at all. As such, Valasca is willfully ignorant to the World Government's misdeeds and crimes, believing that they are a necessary lesser evil, and the only barrier against a world governed by carnage and chaos, where pirates have their way.
Valasca is fiercely committed to her tasks and duties as a Marine, be it mopping the floors or taking down a dangerous pirate. She follows orders to a tee and rarely ever questions the morality of her orders, having been fully broken down and built up again by the Marines. As such, Valasca has a difficult time seeing herself as an individual.
Despite this, Valasca often prefers to avoid the company of other people, having maintained a preference for solitude for the entirety of her life. Valasca is defined by her zealous devotion to the World Government.
Likes: Valasca has a particular affinity for men's clothing, finding it both more comfortable and stylish compared to traditional feminine clothing. Valasca is also zealously devoted to the World Government and the Marines, although she still retains some of her humanity, especially in her love for children and small children.
Dislikes: Valasca has a severe hatred for pirates, stemming from her experiences with pirate in the past. Valasca also dislikes the Kuja tribe, having felt shunned by them throughout her children. Valasca also dislikes those who disagree with the World Government, having an almost religious devotion to the laws and regulation governing the world.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
History: Valasca was inducted into the Kuja Tribe as a young girl, having been abandoned by her birth mother as a newborn, she was found and brought back to the tribe to be an Amazonian. However, Valasca has no recollection of these memories, and she was led to believe that she was born into the tribe similar to all of the other young Kuja girls. Valasca effectively grew up as an orphan, despite being "raised" by the entire village. As she did not have a mother, Valasca grew up without a full-time maternal figure, somebody to tell her right from wrong, and the village people often did not bother to give her the attention that she craved as a child.
As a result of her relatively isolated upbringing, Valasca grew to resent her tribe. At age 16, Valasca wished to join the tribe's pirate crew and explore the world, but the Tribe Elders rejected her request, and effectively relegated Valasca to a lifetime as a menial labourer for the tribe. However, Valasca rejected this life for herself, and she decided to sneak on board and leave the island, becoming a stowaway.
When the ship docked at an island, Valasca snuck out but was promptly captured by a different pirate crew, who enslaved Valasca for two years, brutally abusing her for the entire duration, until she was rescued by the Marines. Having traveled with a horrible pirate crew for 2 years, Valasca grew to resent pirates, and wished everyday that she could kill every single one of the pirates.
After a fruitless year of attempting to return to her homeland in the Grand Line, Valasca decided to enlist in the Marines, deciding that the best option for her was to join the Marines. Being an eager recruit with an intense hatred of pirates and no moral upbringing as a child, she easily accepted the teachings of the Marines, and become a devout recruit.
